MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho – Air Force Reserve Tech. Sgt. Tom Kocis, an aerial spray maintainer assigned to the 910th Maintenance Squadron, uses the control panel of the Modular Aerial Spray System (MASS) to mix water, an herbicide product and an anti-drift material in the MASS tanks onboard a C-130 Hercules aircraft prior to its take off here, Sept. 18, 2014. The aircraft performed a series of aerial spray sorties using the mixture over the nearby Saylor Creek Bombing Range. Joint Base Charleston – Weapons Station, S.C. – A specially-modified Air Force Reserve C-130 Hercules tactical cargo aircraft, assigned to the 910th Airlift Wing, based at Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio, disperses a water-diluted EPA-approved insecticide over an area known as the spoils site here, June 15, 2013. The 30-acre ‘spoils site’ is known to produce approximately 40-million mosquitoes per acre, or 1.2 billion of the pest insects, annually. The 910th’s Aerial Spray Unit conducted spraying operations here, June 15, 2013 to control the population of the disease-carrying pest insects at the installation. 910th aerial sprayers battle 'invader' weeds on Utah ranges

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- A C-130 Hercules tactical cargo transport aircraft, assigned to the Air Force Reserve's 910th Airlift Wing, prepares to take off on a flight to apply an herbicide mixture to more than 1200 acres of target areas on the Utah Test and Training Range, approximately a 20-minute flight from here, March 31. The C-130 is equipped with a Modular Aerial Spray System (MASS) and the aircraft's crew is extensively trained to conduct this mission while flying at approximately 100 feet above the surface at a ground speed of 200 knots or more than 337 feet per second. The 910th, based at Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio, home to the Department of Defense's only large-area fixed wing aerial spray unit, has been tasked, through April 7, with controlling Halogeton, an evasive weed that can hamper bombing test evaluations and unexploded ordinance recovery.
