Master Sgt. Dartanion Pittrell, a line recruiter assigned to the 910th Airlift Wing Air Force Reserve Recruiting Flight, watches as Col. James Dignan, 910th Airlift Wing commander administers the oath enlistment to nine of the wing’s newest Citizen Airmen in an on-field ceremony in front of a crowd of more than 12,000 football fans at Stambaugh Stadium here, October 11, 2014. The ceremony took place between the first and second quarters of the game during which a group from nearby Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio witnessed the YSU Penguins 1-AA team fall to the Western Illinois Leathernecks, 30-24. Earlier in the afternoon, more than 80 football fans representing the wing’s Citizen Airmen, along with their coworkers, families and friends enjoyed a tailgate picnic on a cool but sunny fall afternoon. The event, which has become a fall tradition in recent years for YARS personnel, was presented by the Youngstown Air Reserve Base-Community Council and the USO of Northern Ohio. The 910th Force Support Squadron Outdoor Recreation Office and Community Activity Center staff also supported the event. U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt. Bob Barko Jr.
